Stability as a predictor for longevity

By Dr Anusha Khan

How well are you aging? There are ways you can tell you are getting older especially when it comes to your personal fitness (minus aches and pains). Personal fitness doesn’t necessarily have to go down with age. Physical fitness, cardiovascular health, and nutrition behaviors can improve quality of life as we age. That’s what the field of longevity is all about. There are various gauges of longevity, and stability/balance is one of them.

The particular challenge demonstrated in the accompanying video, requires balance, flexibility, mobility and range of motion. If you aren’t able to complete the challenge (not including physical impairments) that should be a wake up call.

The field of longevity applies science to use various metrics to gauge how you are aging. By measuring these metrics, we can help patients improve their physical fitness, cardiovascular health and metabolic health. This helps them live longer, healthier and happier lives.

At our practice, Mosaic Theory MD, longevity and preventative care is our focus! Do you want to wait until disease occurs to do something or do you want to take actions to PREVENT disease for as long as possible, in the first place? If the latter is your jam, you are our type of patient!
